It follows blue when it stops being an adjective and becomes structure: it supports a figure, separates land from sea, marks the edge of an atmosphere, or turns a measurement into an image. The room begins at the scale of the hand. In the turquoise faience of an Egyptian scarab, the greenish blue, matte and granular, does not decorate an amulet: it gives it body, presence, and an idea of rebirth that can fit inside a ring. Before a Parisian folio from around 1405, that same impulse is ordered on another surface: the deep blue ground of an inhabited initial frames the haloed figure and makes gold, pink and green read by contrast against the creamy vellum. From the page we move to porcelain and enamel. The Bristol plate, in pale bluish white with a scalloped rim, lets a blue-and-white landscape breathe across an almost celeste surface; the Chinese cloisonné qilin reverses the relationship and begins from intense cobalt, over which lotuses and scrolls burst in red, yellow, green and turquoise. In one case blue lightens, in the other it saturates. Between them, the eye learns that pigment has no fixed value: it depends on the material holding it, the light touching it, and the distance from which it is seen. That distance changes abruptly in the second half. The Red Sea reef seen from orbit loses horizon and scale: the Sudanese coast is barely a beige strip, and the sea organizes itself into dark greens, mints and blues that look abstract. The icefall of the Lambert Glacier, recorded by Landsat 7, extends that strangeness with a luminous striated tongue surrounded by deep blue shadows; then the microscopy of a cathode surface reverses the scale and sets celeste lines against a coppery orange third. We no longer know whether we are looking at a planet, a mineral, or a landscape invented by an instrument. The close returns to blue as light and threshold. The wind tunnel bathed in electric cobalt, noctilucent clouds reduced to a pale line over deep navy, and Jupiter's aurora in two scientific panels share one condition: blue is not simply in things, it appears when a device reveals it. Titan ends the route with the sparest image: an electric blue edge over an ochre field. After pigments, seas and ice, that line is enough to recognize a world.","es":"Todo lo azul no reúne piezas que simplemente comparten un color. Después de pigmentos, mares e hielos, basta esa línea para reconocer un mundo."},"para_agentes":{"en":"Request the pieces in the order of the route and pause between materials before moving to images of the Earth.
