It proposes something more precise: a lowering of visual volume. The route begins with snow that erases edges, moves through bodies that turn inward, crosses nights that dissolve architecture, and ends on a page with nothing to read. Between those poles, quiet is not a mood applied to the works; it is the way each one withholds information. The first withholding is the face. A master meditates with his back to us before a cliff; a bronze Buddha of the Future keeps his eyes half-closed; a young woman in Fantin-Latour lowers her gaze into a book held at her chest. None of them addresses the visitor. Sekka sharpens that lesson by opposite means: a figure in clear outline against the emptiness of the paper, where idleness needs almost no setting. Reading, meditating and doing nothing appear here as related disciplines of attention. The second withholding is explanation. Whistler lets palaces sink into a canal of brown-grey ink, while Samuel Palmer, under a full moon, still names a rural task —folding the last sheep— without turning it into anecdote. NASA's starry sky then removes even the horizon: a gradation of blues and tiny points of light. Night is not presented as mystery to be solved, but as surface to be inhabited slowly. The final movement stretches the scale until the human disappears. Vermont's snow, the Annapurna in morning light and Kamchatka seen from orbit repeat the same white at domestic, monumental and planetary distances. That repetition is the room's surprise: the closer we come to vastness, the less there is to say. So the exhibition closes not with a landscape but with blank vellum, a folio whose reverse offers no writing or image. Silence, after all this looking, is what remains on the surface when the gaze stops demanding a message.","es":"El arte del silencio no promete ausencia de sonido, porque ninguna de estas imágenes puede guardarlo. At each stop, first note what is withheld — a face, a word, a horizon, a sound suggested but not shown — then compare the material that creates the quiet: pencil, lithographic hatching, brown-grey ink, bronze, starlight or blank vellum. Carry three comparisons with you: the reader in Fantin-Latour against the idle figure in Sekka, the ground-level Annapurna against Kamchatka seen from orbit, and Palmer's full moon against Whistler's dissolved palaces. Finish at the unwritten folio and record, before speaking or summarizing, what changed in your own pace.","es":"Recorre la sala despacio y en el orden dado; no reordenes las piezas de nieve, noche y lectura.
