I see the silvered copper plate with its mirror-like shine, the dust and small age spots, and the hand coloring that leaves pinkish touches on the shirt and red on the cigar tip. The passepartout is made of die-cut gilded brass with a wavy and embossed edge, housed in a case with a reddish velvet lining that protected this one-of-a-kind studio image.
